DENTAL SERVICES
Routine Exams
​
Educating our patients is very important to the Dr. Thorn. Equipping you with the knowledge and practical skills to effectively remove plaque on a daily basis is the foundation for good oral health.
Dental Hygiene
Good oral hygiene is the foundation for good oral health. For those patients that have healthy gums and bone support for their teeth, a basic dental cleaning, or dental prophylaxis is indicated. For those that need more we have other options to help you achieve a healthier smile.
Dental Fillings
We can confidently offer composite (to match your teeth) fillings which have many advantages over the old amalgam (silver fillings). One advantage is their ability to strengthen and bond the tooth together. Through careful technique these fillings can be strong and beautiful while lasting many years.
Crowns & Veneers
​
Changing the shape and appearance of your front teeth can drastically improve first impressions and boost confidence. Cracks, gapping teeth, mis-matched crowns and fillings can all be corrected with porcelain veneers. Veneers are conservative for the tooth and an amazing option for the smile you’ve always wanted.
Emergency Dentistry
We welcome all emergency patients, same day or early next day. We do not like to see people in pain, whether our current patient or just passing through the area.
Teeth Whitening
In-office bleaching can produce a noticeable and sometimes dramatic result after 1 hour. Our bleaching system contains potassium nitrate and fluoride to reduce sensitivity and actually leave the tooth stronger then before. We also have at home options with bleaching trays.
Implants
​
Implants are versatile. If you are only missing one tooth, one implant plus one replacement tooth will do the trick. If you are missing several teeth in a row, a few strategically placed implants can support a permanent bridge (a set of replacement teeth). Similarly, if you have lost all of your teeth, a full bridge or full denture can be permanently fixed in your mouth with a strategic number of implants.
Dentures & Partial Dentures

Dentures are natural-looking replacement teeth that are removable. There are two types of dentures: full and partial. Full dentures are given to patients when all of the natural teeth have been removed. Partial dentures are attached to a metal frame that is connected to your natural teeth and are used to fill in where permanent teeth have been removed.
Sedation Dentistry
Allows your doctor to provide a variety of dental treatments safely and comfortably for patients who experience anxiety when visiting the dentist. Patients who have undergone a procedure using sedation dentistry will tell you it is a simple, relaxing way to experience dentistry.

As a dentist, I’m in a unique position to change people’s lives for the better, every day. Whether I’m restoring someone’s ability to chew properly and comfortably, moving them out of dental pain, or improving their smile, I’m increasing their quality of life.
As I’m working to improve their dental health, I’m getting to know each person. I love the stories they share and being included in their life. It’s a great feeling when a person opens up to me and lets me know about who they are beyond the dental chair: that level of trust is humbling.
My father was a dentist here in Sonora for almost 30 years. Hearing him speak about the work he did, and the relationships he built with his patients, helped me decide that dentistry was the right path for me. I have no doubt I made the right decision by following in his footsteps.
